Semaine de la citoyenneté - 2021
La Semaine de la Citoyenneté is an event held at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal, comprising multiple conferences aimed at promoting civic participation. For over twenty years, these weeks have developed a sense of civic responsibility among many students. The organization targets students curious about learning more about various societal issues.
The project's goal was to publicize La Semaine de la Citoyenneté and create a visual that would make students think about climate issues. The poster needed to be clear and impactful, with the slogan « Pour une autre suite du monde » prominently displayed and reflected in the visual concept.

Ideas
After researching what has been done in the realm of design around the environment. I started sketching a few ideas of potential directions the poster design could go in.
Sketches
After the ideation phase, I then picked 3 ideas to extrapolate into more concrete sketches of potential final posters.
Final Poster
The visual concept of the final poster was designed to deliver an inspiring message about ecology and building a greener future. It features wind turbines growing in plant pots being watered by a watering can, symbolizing environmental preservation and work towards a better future. The background shows bushes representing a verdant, nature-integrated future, with no humans depicted, making the viewer feel as if they are the ones working towards a better future.
The poster composition is dynamic, with objects arranged in a non-linear fashion to create movement, giving the image a lively feel. The graphic style is modern and simplistic, making the composition easy to understand. Limited colors are used to distinguish different parts of the image, each with gradients to give the image a sense of life and texture. The sans-serif, rounded typography is modern and simple, inviting everyone to read it. The format follows industry standards, making it suitable for typical poster locations. Partner logos are included in a white band at the bottom, allowing the image to stand on its own while maintaining readability. The vibrant colors appeal to a varied student audience, inspiring them to be ingenious in helping the planet, while also being visually pleasing.
